All living things need sunlight.

We design and build homes.

We believe that the design of a house can significantly influence the well-being of its occupants. We design houses that maximize that influence.

Our design is evidence-based, we work hard to distill the findings of today’s best architecture, psychology and sociology research to understand how the design of a home can help human beings thrive.

Study after study has proven that a connection to nature improves happiness, mental clarity, mood, unity, feelings of hope and overall well-being. This connection is our mission. Our approach is a hyper-focus on natural light, natural air and natural things, and to magnify those things with a simple form. Our design principles and belief statements provide our vision.

For too long homes have been designed to efficiently fit on a given lot, impress onlookers, or be quickly reproduced. We think it’s time to design and build houses for the human beings who live in them.

Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.

NATURAL THINGS

And all in a simple form.

Unassuming, the antithesis of extravagance.

When connecting indoor and outdoor spaces, we can build smaller but live bigger.

Built to last.

Although the house may lack solutions to a great many of its occupants’ ills, its rooms nevertheless give evidence of a happiness to which architecture has made its distinctive contribution.
— Alain de Botton
